What is a Micromanufacturing?
Micromanufacturing brings high quality part making to the community.
"3D printing" has been a popular headline topic for the past few years. From 3D printed parts, to 3D printed food, organs, and medications. 3D printers have appeared on retailers shevles and consumers have acquired them without really knowing why or even what to do with them. It may be that they have an idea for printing a part. Perhaps they like to invent things or perhaps they want to create something crafty or games or...the possibilities are endless
But most consumers will not have the ability to take what they have in mind and translate that to a 3D printer. There is still quite a gap between what people envision and how to get that to the printer. Most dedicated designers and engineers will use some sort of CAD (Computer Aided Design) tool. Aquiring the skills to use such a tool are not easy to come by and some folks just do not have the aptitude to think that way.
This is where a local service can make a difference. While there are options for online delivery of parts, this requires the consumer to have a lot of faith in their own design. Some of these online services offer consultation, but there is nothing like being able to sit down with someone to go over an idea in person.
For individuals or small companies, aquiring custom manufactured components can be expensive and time consuming. Most manufacturers do not want to accommodate these consumers as their investment in the manufacturing infrastructure requires large volumes.
For instance, an individual with an idea for a part - perhaps they have come up with a new do-it-all widget - will find few options when looking for someone to prototype their ideas. Most manufacturing firms prefer to work directly with other manufacturers or retailers. They do not have the ability to cost-effectively provide a quantity of one.
In the case of a small retailer who may want to stock an exclusive item for a limited time, the ability to order as-needed quantities rather than a set quantity (that they may be stuck with if demand drops), micromanufacturing gives them the flexibility to order any quantity they need.
Micromanufacturing also has the ability to quickly adjust a design on-the-fly, accommodating changes that may be seasonal or incorporating personl features for an individual.
Since we build our own machines, we have complete control over our manufacturing infrastructure. We design and build these machines with the same 3D printers we use for production. This means that as demand increases, we can build more machines as needed. The hardware used in our machines is easily sourced. The designs are developed by our engineers. We constantly improve and derive our technology to provide better quality, ease of use, durability, and value.
